MAGIC OF MUSIC DIRECTOR
Ms. Catherine Dunphy
BRelSc Hons (MD)

Catherine is a fully qualified energetic teacher and musician and is experienced at both Primary and Secondary levels. She began her music career when she was 4yrs old, appearing on national TV and radio, performing as a solo singer in venues such as the Gaiety and the Olympia on many occasions and taking the lead role in numerous choirs and musical society productions over the years. Having taught music as a subject in various primary and secondary schools, directed choirs, been a musical director and producer for musicals and variety shows such as the Mini Tops, Pirates of Penzance, Guys and Dolls etc for over 10 years, Catherine's love for music led her to develop this innovative music programme based on the New Revised Primary School Music Curriculum. She has been teaching it to over 1000 children a week since the programme began in 2004.

Mr Padraig Wallace
BMus Hons(UCC), MA Community Music (UY)

Padraig is an alumnus of the Schola Cantorum, St. Finian's College Mullingar. On graduating from UCC with BMus, he became conductor of Voices of Cork, a community employment based scheme choir, especially conceived for Cork's reign as European Capital City of Culture 2005. Performing in community settings prompted further study in York University for a MA in Community Music.
Having spent three most enjoyable years facilitating The Magic of Music in Dublin alongside being a member of Christ Church Cathedral Choir Padraig is now returned to Cork facilitating The Magic of Music programme in Cork and the surrounding areas and has recently taken up position as
musical director of the Lismore Choir. Padraig is much in demand as a music teacher, accompanist, organist and choral singer and has many years of experience working with many groups and establishements including Madrigal '75 Chamber Choir, St. Fin Barre's Cathedral Choir, Irish Youth
Choir, Honan Chapel UCC and The Clerks Choral Youghal to name but a few.

MAGIC OF MUSIC FACILITATOR (Sub)
Ms. Jenny Ní Dhoibhilín
BMus Ed. Hons. TCD/DIT MED (TCD)
Jenny is a qualified and experienced Music teacher and has taught Music to both teachers and children in primary schools all over Ireland. Jenny took up the flute at nine years of age and having completed a Diploma in Teaching and Performance in the Royal Irish Academy of Music in 2003, she took up the French Horn and has travelled all over the world performing with many ensembles with both instruments. In 2007 Jenny graduated from Trinity College, Dublin with a Degree in Music Education and in 2010 completed a Masters in Education, specialising in Special Educational Needs. More recently she has taken up the Trumpet and Guitar. Jenny is currently a member of the Lucan Concert Band , the Dublin Concert Band and the Irish Youth Wind Ensemble as well as many orchestras including the Co. Kildare Orchestra and the Phoenix Orchestra. Jenny also has extensive experience in teaching both children and adults instrumental and theory lessons and performs regularly at weddings and other occasions nationwide.

MAGIC OF MUSIC FACILITATOR
Ms. Brioni Gallagher

Brioni is a fully qualified secondary music teacher and experienced primary music teacher and musician. She began her vocal studies at an early age, completing her Royal Irish Academy of Music exams in Voice and Theatre Singing. She then went on to graduate with a BA Mus Honours degree from University College Cork. There she studied various styles of music from Baroque to sean-nos. Having finished a postgraduate in Music Education (Honours) from University of Limerick, Brioni taught music as a subject in various secondary schools and created and taught a music programme at primary level. Her professional singing career started when she joined the Celtic group Anuna with whom she performed as a soloist and chorister. Brioni was then asked to audition for the international show Riverdance with whom she has travelled extensively in Europe, Taiwan, China, UK and Ireland for two years as their lead female vocalist. Some highlights include singing in The Kremlin Place (Moscow), Palais des Congres (Paris), Hammersmith Apollo ( London's West End) and the Mao Li Arena in Taiwan. Brioni most recently appeared as the lead female vocalist in the new DVD Riverdance - Live in Beijing, celebrating the shows 15th anniversary. She is regularly performs as lead vocalist with the Irish Traditional show Ragus. Brioni is also a keen Irish harper, completing RIAM exams and receiving two TSB High Achiever awards for her exam performance. She is a past member of the Meath Harp Academy, Nobber, Co. Meath.

MAGIC OF MUSIC FACILITATOR -
Ms. Adele Guiney

BA Hons (UL), HDip BS (UCD), HDipMusEd (GC)

Adele has been very involved with music from a young age. She commenced learning piano at the age of 8 and later the flute. Having played various lead roles in musicals at school, she went on to become lead singer with a contemporary band for many years and has gained considerable experience performing both in Ireland and overseas. Working as a soloist and actress with the Bunratty Singers for a number of seasons, Adele performed for significant numbers of national and international tourists. She also sings regularly at weddings and other occasions. Adele is an experienced piano teacher, teaching adults and children of various ages and abilities. She is also an experienced classroom music teacher at primary level. She has completed exams to Associate Diploma level in Piano. Most recently in 2011 she achieved a Higher Diploma in Arts in Music Education, graduating with first class honours. Adele is also proficient in Kodaly music teaching methodologies.

 

MAGIC OF MUSIC FACILITATOR -
Ms. Laois O'Sullivan

Laois O'Sullivan is a music facilitator, cello, piano and ukulele teacher and musician who graduated from the Sydney University Conservatorium of Music in 2005 with a Bachelor of Music Education. Laois has been a teacher of Music for the past 8 years and has taught music and performed extensively throughout Australia and abroad at various functions and events including the opening of the Sydney Olympics, several events at The Sydney Opera House, Luna Park, Government House, The Forbidden City Concert Hall, Beijing and The Royal Albert Hall, London. As well as teaching in Sydney, London and in schools around Ireland, Laois has pursued her love of travel and spent several years teaching on the International Circuit in schools in both Beijing and the Philippines. She has recently joined the team of music tutors at the Waterford Academy of Music and Art."

MAGIC OF MUSIC FACILITATOR -
Ms. Imogen Gunner
BA Mus, MA, G.D.E.

Imogen Gunner is a talented musican, performer, composer, teacher and lecturer. She currently performs with her own band and works with several singers and other groups as a collaborator and session musican. She is also a fully qualified second level music teacher. Her area of speciality is traditional music and her main instrument is the fiddle. She also plays the whistle, recorder, keyboard and harp. During her career as a music teacher in both Ireland and the U.K. she has been involved in every level of musical activity in both primary and secondary schools ranging from music workshops, choirs, orchasteras, traditional music groups, band and talent competitions, international music exchanges and private instrument tuition. She currently lectures on Irish music in Trinity College Dublin's BMus Ed degree.

Mrs. Gillian O'Regan
BMus Hons (SU) H-Dip Mus

Gillian is a talented musician and qualified music teacher who has been performing on radio, television and in theatres from a very young age. Her love for music led her to study music in Sheffield University and to continue to master the piano, fiddle, guitar and voice. She has been the lead singer in many bands and has starred in numerous musical productions in venues such as the Cork Opera House, Belfast Opera House, the Waterfront hall, Olympia Dublin and Performing Arts Centre Derry. She was a finalist in the 2004-2005 You're a Star when she came 5th out of 5,000 contestants. As well as teaching the guitar, voice and 'The Magic of Music', Gillian regularly performs at weddings nationwide.

Ms. Sinéad Diskin
BMus Hons (TC)

Sinéad has been immersed in music all her life and began studying piano and guitar at the age of six. She studied music in Trinity College Dublin, taking a particular interest in Music Technology, and was awarded the Geoffrey Singleton award for excellence in this field. She is also a qualified piano teacher, teaching children of all ages and abilities. Sinéad has sung with various choral groups and has performed in numerous musical productions including 'Jesus Christ Superstar', 'Joseph and His Techni-Coloured Dreamcoat', and 'Oliver'. She also regularly performs at weddings and various occasions.

Claire Finn
BSocSc HDipNMusEd

Claire is a talented and experienced musican and teacher who began learning the piano and taking singing lessons at the age of 8. Having completed exams to a grade 8 standard in classical voice with the Associated Board, Clare began competing in Feis' and competitions, including Wesley Feis, Newpark Music festival, and Feis Ceoil. Most recently she was awarded 2nd place in the 2010 Feis Ceoil female alto solo competition and performed in the RDS concert hall. She is a member of a small chamber choir called the 'Leinster singers' under the direction of Ann Fetherston, winners of Feis Ceoil and also highly placed in New Ross, Limerick and Sligo music festivals, as well as having been broadcast for a live performance on lyric fm during Irelands EU presidency. Last year Claire attained a higher Diploma in Music Education with the Leinster school of music and drama in Griffith college and worked with primary school classes and choirs during this time. Aswell as her voice and piano, Claire enjoys playing the guitar and most recently has taken up the violin!

Ms. Aoife Crowley
BA AM DkIT

Aoife is a talented musician who began her musical career at a young age by playing piano and joining the Drogheda Brass Band age, where she now plays solo cornet. The band has retained the title 'National Brass Band Champions of Ireland' for a third successive year and Aoife was with them when they represented Ireland in the European Brass Band Championships in Belgium in May of this year. Aoife enjoys teaching children from 6-16 years of age the piano, descant recorder and various brass instruments. Aoife had the opportunity to perform for the President of Ireland in the production of Gilbert and Sullivan's 'The Gondoliers' as well as at Áras an Uachtaráin, both with the Drogheda Brass Band and as a third of a brass trio. Aoife also regularly participates in various ceoldramas and operas including 'Carmen' at the National Concert Hall and gigs at festivals such as Electric Picnic.

Ms. Maeve Ward
Bmus Hons. NUIM, PGDE UCD

Maeve's love of music, drama and dance started at a young age when she played leading roles in school musical productions. She has proceeded to assist with the production of school musicals and concerts. In 2008, Maeve graduated from NUI Maynooth with a Bachelor of Music degree,
specialising in performance on concert harp. She achieved a diploma in teaching piano in Royal Irish Academy of Music in 2009 and in 2010, completed a PGDE in UCD. Maeve is an enthusiastic and experienced school teacher and teacher of piano and harp. She is a proficient performer in both voice
and harp and has appeared on national television and radio. Maeve also has extensive experience in various musical ensembles and groupa ceoil, having performed in concerts and competitions around the world. Maeve currently sings with the New Dublin Voices, an International winning chamber
choir.
MAGIC OF MUSIC FACILITATOR -
Mr. Dave Mullen

Dave has been involved with primary school music for many years. He studied percussion and guitar at the Dublin Institute of Technology. In addition to his work with "the Magic of Music", Dave maintains a busy performance schedule. He has performed with the RTE Concert Orchestra and National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and has worked with renowned musicians such as Andrew Lloyd Webber, Imelda May, Hayley Westenra, Cara O Sullivan, Gerry Fish, Rebecca Storm, The Priests and many more. He also performs in a large amount of musical theatre projects every year and was the creator and musical director of "Rhythms of the world", a musical production written for primary school students"

MAGIC OF MUSIC FACILITATOR -
Ms. Jennifer Halton
BA Hons MA Hons (NUIM)

Jennifer is a highly enthusiastic teacher with a qualified background in Music and acting. She graduated top of her music class in her BA degree with First Class honours, and was subsequently awarded a scholarship to complete her Masters in Musicology. Graduating with first class honours
from the MA programme, she was awarded a Hume Scholarship from the NUIM to pursue doctoral studies at the university and is now in her first year of her PhD programme undertaking a project on the relationship between architecture and music in Renaissance Italy. She is also a part-time first year undergraduate tutor and teaching assistant in the Music Department at NUIM. She has
extensive experience in teaching children instrumental and theory lessons, utilising both traditional and Suzuki methods. At a young age she began playing traditional music at a competitive level, and now plays the piano, the cello, the guitar and the bodhran, has been a member of the NUIM
choral society, and currently sings and plays in a ballad duet. She is a qualified Meitheal youth coordinator, a published author and has also trained as an actor with a strong background in drama and improvisation.

MAGIC OF MUSIC FACILITATOR Ms. Clara O'Sullivan (sub and summer camp teacher)

 Clara began performing at a very young age in school productions and her passion for music has continued ever since. She is an experienced singer and piano player having studied music performance at the Ballyfermot Rock School leading her to perform on many stages nationally and internationally with Piano Club International. Since returning to Ireland, Clara began working as a music tutor/facilitator and DJ. Clara developed an interest in the use of music in health and recently graduated with a first class honours MA in Music Therapy. She set up Harmony Music Therapy which provides music therapy services to private clients and various schools and centres throughout Ireland.
