TESTIMONIES ABOUT THE CHILDREN'S COURSE

The Magic of Music' has really opened the music curriculum to the children here. All of the strands are covered in this scheme and the children develop an awareness and knowledge of music through participation and other pleasurable musical experiences.  Karen's enthusiasm is infectious and all the children look forward to Wednesdays. The lesson plans are thorough and the resources provided to allow the teachers to revise. This is a comprehensive programme that allows the children to gain a wide musical knowledge at their own class level.

I'm thrilled with my sons progress. Catherine encourages and rewards him at the right times. I believe my son will have a natural appreciation for music for the rest of his life.

The pupils and teachers of St. Senan's N.S. have been enchanted by the Magic of Music for the past year and a half. The programme is active, engaging and every child is exposed to a variety of musical genres and styles. It is wonderful to see such a wide range of musical instruments incorporated into each lesson and as a result the children have no inhibitions in using the wide store of musical instruments recommended in the primary curriculum. The lessons are very well structured and effectively cover all strands and strand units of the Music Curriculum. The class teachers, in supporting the classes, are learning how the programme works and they continue to use the skills and approaches in their own music lessons.
Sally O'Neill -
Principal of St Senans NS, Co. Clare

This is a very innovative and stimulating programme which provided the children with the necessary building blocks to achieve a true understanding and appreciation of music. Grace's infectious enthusiasm and love for music is clear to see in her teaching every week and has made it the children's favourite half hour in the week whilst covering
all strands of the curriculum.

We love the 'Magic of Music' in 4th class. The lessons are all about having fun through music and the boys really look forward to them. The lessons have covered a very wide range of musical genres and styles through stories, singing, performing, listening, composing and literacy. Every lesson is different and every child in the class is active and engaged. It has proven extremely popular with both children and teachers.

The children are engaged from the first second the Magic of Music begins, immersed in the experience and, above all, greatly enjoy each lesson. Watching Catherine Dunphy in action, a few things become immediately apparent: she is an experienced teacher,
with boundless energy, total mastery of her subject and infectious enthusiasm. Highly recommended.

Catherine is an excellent mentor. Her work speaks volumes and one can clearly see in the children's faces how much they enjoy each session. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Magic of Music to other groups.
