Catherine Dunphy

Founder & CEO

Catherine Dunphy is the creator and MD of the dynamic music programme ‘The Magic of Music.’ A qualified and experienced teacher at both primary and secondary level,  Catherine has dedicated her career for the last 22 years to bringing music to as many people, old and young, as possible in a fun and accessible manner.  During this time Catherine has also worn the hat of a stage performer, an events manager and corporate team builder, a mother and now a busy entrepreneur.

Weekly she works with over 1,000 children nationwide from 4yrs to 18yrs across a wide range of intellectual and emotional needs and varied socio economic backgrounds. The common ground between everyone, is the natural ability to relate to music. This powerful tool can be harnessed and used for healing, de stressing, instilling compassion/acceptance/happiness and generally dealing better with the day to day events in each of our lives.


Berginald Rash

Manager & Facilitator

With over 20+ years of teaching experience across the globe from the US, the UK, Spain and Ireland, Berginald is informed by lived experience and critical research in the field of arts and culture. Mr. Rash advocates and consults in the areas of justice, equality/equity, diversity, accessibility, and inclusion. In this capacity he has worked with the Irish Baroque Orchestra, Contemporary Music Centre Ireland, and has spoken as both a panelist and keynote speaker at the Compear Global Education Network with whom he is a founding member and consultant, Sphinx Organization and Accenture respectively. A performer, educator, presenter and curator, Berginald served on the Board of Directors for Dublin-based Crash Ensemble and currently sits on the Board of Directors for Chamber Music Scotland.


Martina O’Connell

IBO Liason & Facilitator

Martina is currently Head of Education and Participation with the Irish Baroque Orchestra, where she leads and develops education, participation, and outreach initiatives, creating opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to engage with music and historically informed performance. As part of this role, she has also worked as a facilitator in collaboration with the Magic of Music programme, delivering music education sessions in a DEIS school in Dublin. This experience has further developed her knowledge and understanding of community music education, allowing her to work directly with the communities the organisation serves and gain first-hand insight into the impact of accessible music education.
